Hey, guys! I thought I'd share with you a couple things I picked up from Target recently. I've been using them for the past couple of days and here are my initial thoughts:
- Elf Eyelash Curler: This eyelash curler is decent, but I prefer my Tarte one which has sadly been misplaced. It does a decent job, but I find it to be a bit bulky. I mainly bought it because it was so cheap- $1.
- Essie Mochacino nail polish: I've heard of this color before and how much people love it, but I never felt compelled to pick it up until I got a good look at it at Target- it's a beautiful taupe-y color with lots of microshimmers in it! It reminded me of Butter London All Hail the Queen which is a favorite of mine, although BL is a bit warmer and beige while Essie is more grey/taupe.
Okay, they're extremely similar, but that doesn't mean I'm not happy to have both! Here it is with some other neutrals for comparison:

- Revlon Lip Butters in Peach Parfait and Pink Truffle: I have terrible luck with lip products- most of them irritate my lips and leave them dry, chapped, and peeling. I picked these up hesitatingly, praying that these would work for me- and they do!! I'm so excited! These lip balms that have a sheer tint to them which can be built up. Even after the moisture wears off, my lips stay smooth, which is rare for me! I swatched them here first with one coat, and then built up. I like to wear them sheer, and it's great that I don't need a mirror to apply. I've already picked up two more!
- L'Oreal Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream in Light: I have tried the Smashbox BB cream in a sample and really liked it, so when someone claimed this product to be just as good, I though it was worth a shot. This product claims to prime (smooth skin's texture), hydrate (for all day moisture), correct (for even, healthy looking complexion), and perfect (hide imperfections). First of all, is there really a difference between correcting and perfecting? I don't know. Secondly, there is no SPF in here and no healthy-skin ingredients that would actually improve your skin. The coverage is sheer, which is fine with me because I didn't buy it to replace my foundation anyway. My main issue with this is that although it makes a decent primer, this product is way too mattifying for my extremely dry skin. I plan on using it up, but I won't repurchase. If you have oily skin you actually might really like this "BB cream".

You can see here it comes out white with little grainy looking particles in it. Also note that it's a bit runny/watery.
|
 |
| As you blend it out, the particles burst and give off a bit of color |
 |
| Blending away... |
 |
| And it's gone! (Can you see it?) |
So that's my haul! Have you tried any of these products? What are your thoughts? Let me know in the comments!!

I've never tried the L'Oreal BB cream but with the one we have here in the UK it's really horrible and the light one is waaay too orange. :(
ReplyDeleteYeah, I'm kind of over the whole bb cream trend, I might repurchase the Smashbox one, but I'm not trying any others!
